  You cannot expect distressed houses to look brand new. Not many foreclosures look nice at all once they sell. This is because they sit on the market for a long time. There are many things that you should expect when you purchase foreclosures. These things include the look, price, and what you need to do.


The look of a foreclosure may seem to be run down. The windows wont have been cleaned in months, the yard wont have been mowed or watered, and much more. There wont have been any maintenance on the property at all. This is normal because banks dont have money to put into the maintenance of a home and they wont do it. A foreclosure is very different than a house selling at market value. You have to expect this and be prepared for an unsightly view. The lack of maintenance is usually a low cost.
